Logic Frame: Working Edition

I designed a real 4-bit computer you can hang up, and the build starts after finals, around January.

The Display Edition is art and doesn't turn on. This one is designed to run a real program, with about 20 chips on eight breadboards in a taller frame. It's a new, bigger design made to hang on a wall, and right now it only exists as a design and renders. There's no checkout yet, so I'm not taking any money for it.

Expected about $400 to $500, not final until the first one is built.

Build updates go up on Instagram (@logic_frame_co), and that's where I'll announce when the Working Edition or the kit opens.

Build log: design milestones

  1. Finished the circuit design (netlist) and checked the wiring in simulation.

  2. Modeled the full frame in CAD and made the first renders (the picture above is one of them).

  3. Picked the final layout, eight breadboards in one tall frame, and started routing the wires.
